Starting in November 2026, Assay Technology will begin the process of permanently transitioning most product assembly and order fulfillment to our facility in Youngstown, OH.
Most of our customers are probably aware that Assay Technology operates two facilities: our headquarters in Livermore, CA and our primary industrial hygiene laboratory in Youngstown, OH. Historically, all manufacturing and shipping of our products to fulfill customer orders was done out of the California facility. However, the relocation of our Ohio lab into a larger space in 2025 opened up new possibilities for improvements in efficiency throughout the company.
How This Affects You
- For East Coast and Midwest customers: Ground shipments, which previously arrived in 4-5 business days, will now generally arrive in 1-2 business days.
- For West Coast customers: Ground shipments will now arrive in 4-5 business days rather than 1-2 business days.
- Same-day shipping cutoff: Our official cutoff time for orders to ship same-day will be moving up from 2 PM Pacific to 2 PM Eastern (11 AM Pacific). However, we will continue to make every effort to ship orders on the day they are received whenever possible, and we hope to move the official cutoff to a later time once the transition has been completed.
- Local pick-up in CA: As stock shifts to our OH facility, local pickup in CA will no longer be available.
Although this change will improve shipping times for the majority of our customers, we are certainly aware that it poses an inconvenience for those located on the West Coast. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it will help us continue to offer the most cost-effective and convenient sampling solutions for the greatest number of clients for many years to come.
